Dance enthusiasts, beginners and seasoned salseros filled up Living Arts Studio last Tuesday for the LA Salsa & Bachata Social Party.
Audiences and dancers were treated to savory finger foods like tapas (prepared by our very own masterchef Felix Tay who is also a salsero), spaghetti , chicken sausages, sandwiches (by Alison; salsa student) and chocolate fudge (Danial; salsa student). Fruit punch and the much-needed ice chilled beer were also prepared to quench thirsts.
The crowd started flowing in at 8.00pm and the studio gradually got merrier as the evening progresses. By 9.00pm, DJ Selva heated up the dance floor with his caliente collection of songs which caters to both the Cuban and LA Salsa dance flavours . Also not forgetting is the must-have sensual and romantic Bachata songs!
By 9.30pm, a series of free and fun workshops followed suit. We managed to invited guest instructors Kosar and Amar to facilitate workshops to teach some basic Salsa & Bachata moves . Then, Mindy introduced the lively Samba line dance; Magalehna and got everyone to groove.
More people poured in at 11.00pm, some friends got lost and came late. But better late than never! By this time, DJ Selva took over to spin more delectable songs for all the chicos y chicas. By midnight, the studio got even busier and noisier. We carried on dancing up until 1.30am.

Thank you for inviting us. By showcasing our young dance talents, we hope to help raise funds for all the active animal NGOs in this country. May they keep our stray cats and dogs safe, happy and healthy. To read more about the event from an Animal NGO who participated in this Charity Fair, please visit http://www.myanimalcare.org. I’d also like to extend a big thank you to our forever supportive and passionate parents. We value your cooperation and effort to continue contribute to the artistic growth of your beautiful, blissful and bountiful children!
We were invited to do “something fun” for the administrative professionals so Mindy, Kosar and myself packed our bags and met the small group of training participants on a rainy Wednesday evening in KL. They watched, they cheered and they danced with us!
