The launching of The Actors Studio in Lot 10

For more details, visit http://www.theactorsstudio.com.my

For those of you who are not aware that the Actors Studio at Bangsar Shopping Complex has shut down, here is the breaking news. They have relocated to Lot 10 @ the rooftop behind California Fitness! The breathtakingly beautiful view from above makes you feel like you are in another country. TAST has a new home with 250 seats!

MyDance Alliance, a society that supports and promotes dance in Malaysia was invited to organize an opening night performance which was free for all on October 15. So, off we go to invade this ‘virgin’ venue.

After rehearsing for 3 weeks, Teresa and her 4 performers managed to pull together a 15-min (very long!). The dance was entitled:, Blue Skies, Raining Hearts. Here is the synopsis,

Blue Skies, Raining Hearts is about five women whose lives are “same, same but different”. Each woman carries with them past experiences and at the same time, they find ways to break away from these experiences. This is a simple choreography examining the young modern women’s dilemma about death, abandoned, betrayal and disappointment. Do or do not?

Teresa pulled this group together based on their willingness to explore, question and commit. It was not their immeasurable dance techniques that mattered because each individual contributes a unique piece that makes up the whole puzzle.

We garnered several positive and not-so-positive responses (mainly due to technical problems) that only served to drive us to improve our position as a dance-maker & performer in the community. We have yet to receive video recordings and only took 1 group picture. Sorry, Teresa is not very tech-savvy.

NEW! Living Arts supports Sun Yoga’s 30-day challenge

Live. Love. Yoga

The 30-day challenge that is facilitated by Indra and Erin at Sun Yoga promotes exactly that. You live life with all your love first, then you practice yoga as a reflection and contemplation to your thoughts, actions and emotions. But how many of us have the privilege or rather patience to do that daily? Not many, but 1 person has accepted this challenge and will start doing just that.

Under the sponsorship of Living Arts, Teresa presented this 30-challenge to her best friend; Miss Aw Li-Ann who is over-worked, overweight and under-loved (is there such word?). Li-Ann has agreed to practice yoga daily at Sun Yoga and if she fails, she will pay for the damage.

Follow our website closely for daily contemplations from Li-Ann. In fact, she has already begun writing about her journey that is about to start. Read on and be inspired!

Namaste - Day 1 & 2
when i first did yoga with 3sa years ago, yoga for me was more of a stretching exercise class than anything. that was years ago.

yesterday, as i filled in my registration form for the 30-day yoga challenge, the guy who took my registration look at me with a cautious eye and told me that i’ve got quite alot of injuries…
